As we’ve already discussed and the number one reason why people invest in a 4ft bed is the fact that they save valuable floor space.  Whilst these beds only measure 6 inches less in width than a standard double bed, you’d be surprised at the difference that can make.  If you are particularly short on space, then we recommend choosing a divan style bed as they take up the least amount of space possible. This is because the mattress sits directly on top of the base. This is in contrast to a framed bed where the mattress sits inside the frame. Whilst all 4ft beds take a mattress that measures 120 cm x 190 cm, the external measurements can differ quite widely.
