  • How To Get The Best Out of Your Box Bedroom

    January 30, 2023

    Box Bedroom

Oh, the dreaded box bedroom, if you have one then you’ll know just how awkward they can be to furnish. After all, these bedrooms often seem like the forgotten room of the house. More often than not they become the dedicated dumping ground for all and sundry. However, with a few clever tricks the box bedroom can become a beautiful and useful space that you don’t have to keep the door closed on! Box Bedroom

If you want your box bedroom to house a bed then you need to think carefully about the best choice for this room. Firstly, who will the bedroom be used by? For example, will it be for children or perhaps you want to use it as a guest bedroom. As these bedrooms have limited floor space then it pays to invest in a bed that is multi- functional. Indeed, when it comes to a box bedroom every piece of furniture needs to be carefully considered.  Box Bedroom

If this petite room is going to be a child’s bedroom then you can pick from a wide selection of either cabin beds, midi sleeper or high sleeper beds. These clever beds utilise the vertical space as well as the horizontal. For example, with a high sleeper you can fit a wardrobe, desk and set of drawers beneath one of these. That way you get the most out of the available space. Plus, most children love to sleep on a high sleeper so getting them to bed might be that little bit easier! Box Bedroom

However, should you want to use your box bedroom as a guest bedroom then you will need to look at different options. If you want this bedroom to sleep more than one person then a guest bed or a sofa bed could be a great start. If storage is more of a priority then an ottoman bed could be a great option for utilising that wasted space beneath the bed.  Box Bedroom

With more and more of us working from home it makes sense to turn a small bedroom into a functional office. This is an excellent way of keeping your work life separated from your home life. Indeed, one complaint that homeworkers often make is that they feel like the lines of their work/home life are blurred.  However, by dedicating a room just for work it can make it a little easier to detach from work once the day is over.

With the cost of living soaring it makes sense to look for ways to cut back on your outgoings. Gym memberships can cost a pretty penny and if you have the space then a home gym can be just as good as the real deal. Whilst you will have to invest in some equipment initially you will reap the benefits in the long term. What’s more, you can often pick up second hand gym equipment at a fraction of the cost of new gear. Don’t forget you’ll also be saving on fuel costs if you need to use a vehicle to get to the gym!

So there we have it, a box bedroom doesn’t have to be the forgotten room. With a little bit of inspiration and forward thinking you can have a room that serves a great purpose. For more bedroom inspiration you can visit our pinterest page here.
